Rob's Ramblings

I'm happy to say that my garden is officially in the ground and completely planted! From here on out it will be routine maintenance such as watering, weeding, waiting. I was thrilled to find honeydew plants in one of the local stores, so I now have 2 honeydew plants in the ground. Honeydew is one of my favorite fruits. I put my tomato and cucumber, honeydew, watermelon, cantaloupe, and pumpkin plants in last weekend, and today I got in my radishes, corn, and sunflowers. I also mulched the peony area with some nice-looking red mulch, and am preparing to power-rake my yard to pull out all of the dead weeds in preparation to put down some new grass seed. I am overjoyed at how much new grass has been popping up! Last Fall, there were mostly weeds, and now it is mostly grass, with the exception of some bare spots. I am looking forward to spending many hours in the Spring and Summer tending to my yard. It's my therapy.

The official countdown to the end of school is underway. For our district, we have 14 days left. When the calendar turns to May, all thoughts turn to Summer. The major event that my mind is pondering is Tijuana. In just over 2 months, I will once again be plane-bound to San Diego for training and then crossing into Tijuana. I cannot wait. I have been lifting this trip up in prayer for many months, and I know that many of you have been praying as well. For that, I thank you. I'm also excited for Junior camp and VBS, and this year I'm moving out of my comfort zone and going with Junior Highers to their camp. Many of last year's Junior Campers asked me to come with them on their first official Junior High camp. I couldn't say no. I care about my church kiddos. Are you doing something fun this Summer?

Not a whole lot of interesting things have happened in the last couple of weeks. I know this is a short blog, but when life is slow, that's a good thing...right? Take care, thanks for reading, and God bless you!!
