TGIF

(Sigh) That's the sound of a huge sigh of relief as I finally get the chance to relax for the first time in a few weeks. It started July 1st, when I took off for Tijuana. That week blended into Jr High camp, which then led into VBS. This past week I was juggling VBS, Boys & Girls Club, and my concessions job at the ballfields. I wasn't home much except to sleep. I have been very, very busy. It's actually the busiest time of the year for me. And while the work is exhausting, it's something that I love. My co-teacher and I have been teaching Bible stories to the kids all week long, and we decorate the classroom to the max. We like the kids to feel like they are actually experiencing the Bible story, and a lot of the kids feel like they really have lived the adventure!

My return to Boys and Girls Club this past Monday was great. I hadn't seen the kids in 2 weeks, and I almost got tackled to the ground when I came through the door. They really are a great bunch of kids. Next week is the final week of the Summer program, and I'm not going to see a lot of them for a while, and I'll definitely miss them. It's been a real blessing to develop relationships with these kiddos.

I am planning a Chilifest on Saturday, August 5, from 10am until about 9pm. While this is a fundraiser, I'd like to invite everyone to attend, whether or not they can contribute. This is a chance to fellowship with my friends and share my heart for missions with those who would like to hear more. I'll also be making up some homemade cinnamon rolls to accompany the chili. It will be a mild chili, but I'll have fixings that you can use to spice it up to your liking.  I'll be creating an event on the Rob's Homebaked Goods Facebook page, so check it out, save the date, and RSVP to come out and enjoy some good chili, cinnamon rolls, and fellowship.

I'm going to close this out and spend some time relaxing. I'm working the ballfields this weekend, so I want to make this rest time count! Thanks for reading, and God bless you!
