There has been a change in my plans for this Summer. I will not be going to Honduras. The reason for the change is due to the fact that our missionary contact in Honduras has felt God's leading and has left the field to pastor a church in the states. Other than him, there's really no one else to work with, and Honduras is not a place to be without someone who knows the place well. So, the pastors at our church began making some phone calls and reaching out in other directions. We contacted a missionary in the Bahamas, and he is interested in having our group come and work with him. The Bahamas? People think luxury vacations when they think of the Bahamas, but every country has areas that are needy and need to know Christ. This is one such area. The church, which is in the Philipsburg area, was damaged during the hurricanes last summer, and our church was able to help them out financially in their rebuilding efforts. It will be our joy to meet these Christian brothers and sisters that we've been able to be a blessing to. The cost will be pretty much the same, which is a good thing.
I am currently selling BOGO cards for Firehouse Subs and Papa Johns. They sell for $20, and can be used once a day until April 2019. Every card sale moves me closer to my goal, and I can hook you up! I'm nearing 50% of my goal. I'm also taking donations, and I might be able to slip in a few baking orders if I have time. My job at the Alley helps out, but my hours are getting cut, and I'm not bringing in what I used to.
That's the scoop on the mission trip for now. People have been asking, so I wanted to bring everyone up to speed on the whole process. I'm very excited about the opportunities that the Bahamas might hold for me.
Sorry about the briefness of this post, but I have other responsibilities are calling my name. It seems like life never stops, and I'm busy, busy, busy! Thanks for reading, and God bless you!
