It's hard to believe that the fair is already half over! I might add that the Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday blog posts may be brief, as I don't spend too much time out there in the evening, and also considering I have to blog after...I don't want to get into bed too late, as I need to be at 100% for my kiddos in the morning. Thanks for understanding.
The first thing I wanted to do was get some food, so that I could walk it off the rest of the evening. I was in the mood for some fried green tomatoes, but them I changed my mind and decided on a cow patty. The Cow patty ($7.00) is a bed of french fries topped with pulled pork, BBQ sauce, nacho cheese, and sour cream. Yum! And the service was nice, too. They also offer a gluten-free version of this as well. Next to the booth is a covered patio area with picnic tables. Good thing, because this is not a walk-around-as-you-eat-it type of food. After I walked through the buildings, I wanted a bit more, so I stopped by the quesadilla booth on the Channel 12 corner, and they were offering $2 quesadillas. I opted for a chicken one. My supervisor from the Alley was working this booth, and I got a nice picture of her as she handed me the quesadilla. It was really good!! Nice job, ladies! On my journeys tonight, I had the opportunity to see and visit with my niece, Teighlor. It's always great to run into family out there.
I next decided to take a walk down the Midway to see if I could find any of my kiddos. I did see a few, and I also saw my good friend, Pat, whose birthday is today! Happy birthday, Pat! She and I used to be neighbors. She enjoys coming to the fair daily to walk around and play "Racer's Edge." She also enjoys the Sweeper games, but they were not there this year. The owner and his wife have retired. She and I walked and talked together, and she was going to grab some ice cream at the Dairy Bar in the Grandstand. Since it was her birthday, I bought her ice cream, and she opted for raspberry cream, no sugar added. She asked for an extra spoon, and insisted that I share it with her. How could I refuse that? Since we were both walking out in the same direction, we escorted each other out. I'm glad that after we moved, we were still able to keep our connection with Pat. She is a true friend.
Tomorrow....is the the one day of the fair that I've been looking forward to for months! I don't typically attend concerts at the fair, but I have a ticket to see TobyMac!! I've wanted to see him in concert for years, ever since I began listening to his music. He's been to the area several times, and there has always been some kind of conflict. This time, it's going to happen! I did see a snippet of him through a slat in the fence at the fair a few years ago, but that was different. I have great seats, and I'm so stoked! I have a bucket list for my life, and seeing a TobyMac concert is on that list. I'll finally be able to scratch that item off my list! Can't wait! That being said, I'm not sure what I'll be doing until concert time, or what kind of time I'll have. I'm sure there will be a blog post, I'm just not sure what it will look like.
It's after 10:00. Past bedtime. I'm tired. Thanks for reading, and God bless you!
