If I could describe the past few days in one word, it would be "insane!" First of all, I have been slammed with a crazy amount of orders. This is by no means a complaint. Maybe I should say I have been blessed with these orders. I have been in the kitchen mixing, measuring, cooking, and loving it. I blare my Christmas music and thank God for the finances that will be supporting Operation: Mexico. Cooking and baking are my therapy. At this time, I am taking a quick break to give my feet a rest and blog for you. If you take a deep sniff, you might smell snickerdoodles or lemon bars coming through the screen. :-)
In other news, my blood sugar levels are running higher than should be, and I think a change in insulin will be in the future. Before you think it, let me clarify that I have not been gorging myself silly on what I have been baking. When I make something, I will take one small bite to make sure that it's OK. That's pretty much it. That's not enough to skyrocket my blood levels like they have been. Earlier this week, while I was working at the school, I got extremely dizzy and became unable to stand. I went down to the floor, and I thought I was passing out. I almost did. The teacher I was working with notified the school nurse, and after checking my glucose levels, it was determined that my high sugar levels may have caused my spell. After resting for about a half-hour, I was fine, and was able to resume my duties. It was suggested that my enormous load of orders was stressing me out. I will refer to my above paragraph, that baking is my therapy. I have deadlines, but I am not stressed. I am checking in with my doctor to see what kind of action I need to take. Please keep my health in your prayers.
As of yesterday, I am off of work from school until January 4. I have 2 days to work on Monday and Tuesday at B&G club, and that will help financially. I have some funds set aside to pull me through this dry spell, so I am thankful for that. I plan to spend my time off resting, and baking for anyone who would like a post-Christmas order, or something for New Year gatherings. God has blessed me with 2 jobs that I love, and through those 2 jobs, I am able to make ends meet. There are days that I wish I could be at home in bed, or doing something else at the time, but when it comes right down to the wire, I am truly thankful for God's blessings in providing me with these great jobs.
Well, my break is over, and I need to get some supplies at the store, and get back into the kitchen. I still have many more orders to fill. Thanks for reading today, and I pray for God's blessings upon you during this Christmas season.
